Dr Shamiso Ketani

Dr Ketani, originally from Zimbabwe, graduated from the Medical University of Southern Africa in 2000. He left Zimbabwe with his family in 2001 to work in the UK. He spent his time working as an associate dentist in Oldham and Rossendale.

In 2005 he decided to embark on a new venture and opened his first practice in Milnrow, after much success, he decided in 2006 to open his second practice in Todmorden.

Dr Ketani has over 20 years’ experience in general dentistry, he has also taken some post graduate courses in implantology and has amassed experience in the use of several different implant systems. He also offers FAST BRACES ® and many other routine and cosmetic treatments.

When he is not in surgery, he likes to spend time with his wife and 4 children. He enjoys reading, walking, watching tv and going on holiday abroad with his family. He also has a keen interest in agriculture and mining in his home country.

Dr Ketani says his favourite thing about working here is “the difference I make to people’s lives through simple and complex treatments and leaving them with their ideal smile”. He says, “the friendly atmosphere and how well the team works helps keeps me continually motivated.” Dr Ketani also says he “enjoys the annual Christmas do as it’s a great chance for everyone to bond and celebrate.”


Mrs. Christina Ketani BSc (Hons), BA (Hons)

Christina graduated in 2006 with a degree in dental technology, she is a dental technician by trade but since 2006 she has been the practice manager for both of our sites. She also holds an advanced certificate in Health Service Management and a BA in Health and Social Change. Christina co-owns both of the practices with her husband.

Christina helps the practice to run smoothly and safely, this stems from her 14 years’ experience, professionalism, and passion for further development. She has completed courses over the years such as business leadership and management courses and many others.

Christina is the first port of call for any advice or information, she is always happy to deal with any inquiries, no matter how small or large they may seem.

In her free time, at the same time as raising 4 children, she enjoys going to the gym, running, cooking, baking and travelling and spending time with her family.

Christina’s favourite thing about working here is “seeing everyone leave happier than when they came in”. As “without all the hard work from the whole team it would be difficult for us to function and to keep on putting smiles on people’s faces.”


Dr. Michael Galanis

Associate General Dentist

Dr Galanis graduated from the Semmelweis University in 2009. After graduating, he returned to his native country of Greece and spent time as an army dentist and set up his own private practice. Dr Galanis moved to the UK in 2012 and has been with the practice since he arrived.

Dr Galanis has over 10 years’ experience in general dentistry. He has vast experience in NHS and private dentistry. He is committed to further professional development and education. He is currently undertaking a post graduate course in implantology in order for him to be able to provide implants to his patients.

In his free time, Dr Galanis enjoys, reading, walking, baking, tracking and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Dr Galanis says his favourite thing about working here is the “friendly environment, positively motivated colleagues and the gratitude of the patients” which he says makes his job “so much more enjoyable and rewarding.”


Dr Blessings Ketani

Associate General Dentist

Dr Blessings graduated from the University of Manchester in 2016. After completing her vocational training year in Rochdale, she joined the practice in 2017.

Dr Blessings has over 4 years’ experience in general dentistry. She has taken additional training in order to be able to offer various cosmetic and orthodontic treatments. She offers Invisalign, C-Fast and composite bonding. She is currently undertaking a diploma in restorative dentistry with Tipton Training.

In her free time, Dr Blessings enjoys travelling, sampling different cuisines, running, working out and spending time with her family.

Dr Blessings’ favourite thing about working here is “helping young children and nervous patients become more comfortable and acclimatised to the dental environment.” She has an approachable and friendly mannerism about her which many patients have commended her on. She says, “it is very rewarding taking a patient from the start to the end of their treatment journey and seeing the difference it makes to their life.” She also says she enjoys being a part of the team.


Dr Emmanouil Chachlakis

Associate General Dentist

Dr Chachlakis graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2016. After graduating, he enlisted in the Greek Army and began his post as an army dentist for 9 months. This was an excellent opportunity for Dr Chachlakis to hone his skills through experiencing dentistry in a different setting. After completing his tour of duty, Dr Chachlakis moved to the UK and undertook a MSc in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) at the University of Manchester.

During his MSc, he split his time between the Manchester Royal Infirmary and Manchester Dental Hospital, observing, assisting and carrying out various oral maxillofacial and minor oral surgery procedures such as apicectomies and implant placements.

After completing his MSc, Dr Chachlakis spent a year at Glan Clwyd Hospital in North East Wales as a dental core trainee in the Oral Maxillofacial Department. Here, he worked on call and alongside consultants with a variety of specialist interests, therefore no day was the same.

He also had the opportunity to work on a surgery unit treating patients under local or general anaesthesia. Treatments included surgical extractions of wisdom teeth, difficult teeth or extractions for patients with severe dental phobia. Dr Chachlakis has been with us since 2019.

When Dr Chachlakis is not in the surgery, he enjoys playing the guitar, reading books, swimming, cycling, travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Chachlakis says his favourite thing about working here is the very good relationships and communication he has between the principal dentist, practice manager and other staff. He also enjoys how there is a “plethora of patients” which means he is able to “provide high quality private and NHS procedures”.


Michelle Bailey

Lead Dental Nurse

Michelle joined us in 2007 and completed her dental nursing qualification in 2010. She has 13 years’ experience in nursing. Michelle has experience in a wide variety of dental treatments such as implants, cosmetics, rotatory endodontics, orthodontics and general dentistry. Michelle is our lead nurse and alongside Rachael assists in training and mentoring our trainees.

Michelle has a passion for self-investment and has completed continued professional development in many different fields such as CPR, data protection and child protection. These courses allow Michelle to ensure she is always providing patient-centred care and ensures patients always receive the best care.

In her free time, Michelle enjoys, walking, movies, music, cooking and spending time with friends and family

Michelle’s favourite thing about working is “working with a great bonding team” and “caring for and helping patients.”


Rachael Clarkson

Rachael joined us in 2009 and completed her dental nursing qualification in 2011. She has over 10 years’ experience in nursing. Rachael has experience in a wide variety of dental treatments such as implants, cosmetics, rotatory endodontics, orthodontics and general dentistry. Alongside Michelle, Rachael assists in training and mentoring our trainees

Rachael is committed to further professional development as she is currently studying for courses in Leadership and Management (Level 4) and Oral Health Education. She hopes that these courses will help improve her leadership and management skills and refine her knowledge in oral health, therefore ensuring patients receive the best care.

When Rachael is not in work, she enjoys, running, days out with her son and husband, shopping and meeting with friends and family.

Rachael’s favourite thing about working here is how “we have a great team and get on so well, it is really is a wonderful work family.”


Asia Begum

Asia joined us in 2017 and completed her dental nursing qualification in 2018. She has 3 years’ experience in nursing. Asia has experience in a wide variety of dental treatments such as implants, cosmetics, rotatory endodontics, orthodontics and general dentistry.

Asia has a keen interest in learning and has completed continued professional development in many different fields such as CPR, data protection and COVID related modules. Doing these courses has allowed Asia to improve her knowledge and skill set, ensuring that patient safety and satisfaction is always the best it can be.

One of Asia’s favourite things about working here is “lunchtime” as she “gets to socialise and gets to know colleagues better” improving the morale. Asia also enjoys “getting involved in operations and actively assisting to the best of my knowledge and gaining experience in various fields of dentistry”. Asia also says she “loves the team”


Megan Thurley

Dental Nurse

Megan joined us in 2018 and completed her dental nursing qualification in 2020. She has 2 years’ experience in nursing. Megan has experience in a wide variety of dental treatments such as implants, cosmetics, rotatory endodontics, orthodontics and general dentistry.

Megan loves to learn and improve her skills and knowledge by keeping on top of CPD and reading dental articles to keep updated on any changes or new innovations in the profession. Megan hopes to undertake some additional courses in the future.

When Megan is not at work, she enjoys walking, reading, festivals, music, movies and hanging out with friends and family.

Megan’s favourite thing about working here is how “we all work as a team.” She also enjoys “gaining experience daily by assisting different types of treatment such as surgical treatments.”


Ajwa Tahir

Trainee Dental Nurse

Ajwa joined us in 2019 and is studying for her dental nursing qualification. She has 1-year experience in nursing. Ajwa has had the chance to experience a wide variety of general dental treatments.

Ajwa says, “being a part of the dental practice has given me the chance to grow as an individual whilst developing my personal and professional skills. I have been able to enhance my communication and team working skills whilst learning about interesting dental procedures and how they benefit patients on a daily basis.”

Outside of work I have various different hobbies which include, seeing my friends and family, swimming and doing my make up and going out.

Ajwa’s favourite thing about working at this practice is “getting along with my colleagues and working as a team.”



Scarlett Paine

Trainee Dental Nurse

Scarlet joined us in 2020 and is studying for her dental nursing qualification. Scarlett has had the opportunity to experience a wide variety of general dental treatments and is always willing to learn more.

Scarlett says, “I love working here, it gives me opportunity to combine my love for biology and my passion for helping people. It’s one of them jobs where no day is the same and you are always on your feet, which I love!

When she is not in work Scarlett enjoys art, drawing, listening to music, hanging out with friends and walking her dog.

Scarlett’s favourite thing about working here is the “lovely staff, rewarding job and the good energy” which she says is “really important as a trainee”
